May at Grove Farm

Here in the Cotswolds, May feels like a turning point.

The hedgerows thicken almost overnight and the fields take on that deep green softness. There is a sense that the landscape has fully committed to the season now, and everything is moving with more confidence.

At Grove Farm, the garden has reached that in-between stage where patience gives way to activity. The tulips are now finished, their colour softening and petals dropping as the borders prepare for what comes next. There is urgency in the beds as we begin planting out young vegetables, watching the skies closely and trusting the warmth to hold.

In the greenhouse, the dahlias are waiting for their moment to be set into the soil and tomatoes are in, beginning their climb. The garden feels full of intention, everything in preparation, which is such a hopeful stage.

One of the most exciting developments this month has been a very determined bantam who has taken to nesting with absolute conviction. With a little guidance from lovely Arthur Parkinson, we’ve decided to let her continue, and she is now well into her incubation period and we’re beginning to see the first tiny Lavender Pekin chicks emerge!

Home and business life have been equally full; we are preparing to film a new house tour later this month, which always brings a shift in attention to the details of everyday living. I need to take time to notice the corners and niches, the light, the way rooms are actually used, rather than how they are imagined and dress them a little to show them at their best.

Life with our new puppy, Honey, has added a different energy to the house. She moves through it as if she has always belonged, full of curiosity and regular bursts of chaos that make everything feel more alive. Meanwhile, Lola’s recovery after last month’s illness has been nothing short of remarkable. Watching her return to herself has been one of the best gifts of May.

May is also a month of celebration for us - Lily was born on May 1st and so the month has been filled with a little more chaos, party planning and fun than usual. I can’t believe she turned eight this month - time honestly has flown.

Outside the house, we’ve been enjoying walking the bluebell woods. They started to turn at the beginning of the month, but we caught them in their magnificence before it was too late.

Finally, there has been a quiet milestone this month that definitely feels worth noting: The GROVE England flagship store is now open in Stow-on-the-Wold.

Opening here feels really significant to us. The Cotswolds has always been at the heart of the brand’s inspiration and identity, so there is something fitting about this space being rooted in the same landscape that shaped it from the beginning. Stow itself feels like a natural home for it, a town that has become a creative hub in the region, with a growing presence of British brands such as Penelope Chilvers, Fairfax & Favour and Herd.

Inside the store, we wanted everything to feel immersive; calm, considered, and connected to the values that sit behind GROVE England. Fragrance, craftsmanship and design come together here in a way that is less about retail and more about stepping into a different atmosphere. We hope to be able to welcome you there soon!

Thank you, as always, for being part of this world with us.

With Love,

Laura x

Things I’ve been LOVING this month:

  • My new hairbrush - I have been coveting one of these beautiful La Bon Brosse hairbrushes for so long, I cracked this month and invested… honestly it’s so good. Lily is also obsessed, her hair is so soft when we use it, plus it really gets knots out like nothing else we have used - no pain either!

  • I have moved over to this brand as my new supplement/skincare routine. I was gifted the first set and now have set up a full subscription. I have never had so many complements on how I look - people have said I am glowing so many times in the last month and I am convinced it’s this - HIGHLY recommend. And the name says it all…’You’re Looking Well

  • I am wearing these new earrings from Missoma almost daily. Utterly obsessed and lots of compliments too on these too.

  • Another thing helping with the glow - I have been using my new ZIIP Halo (2) a few times a week regularly and now really notice the lift (jowel and cheeks!) SO good and def helping with the glow.

  • Finally, our award winning Anemone Candle is now back in stock after selling out twice - I am burning it on repeat at home and in the store to celebrate! I have also just signed off the Snowdrop candle for Autumn launch - it’s SO good, I can’t wait to share it with you soon.

Thanks for reading! This post is public so feel free to share it.
