Hey friends Hey!

I am a day late due to some technical difficulties but we are here!

The podcast is back today and with it, the Youtube Video. What I meant to mention on the podcast and didn’t is the fact that President Barack Obama is launching a six-part podcast series called A Great Book with Barack Obama, starting September 24, 2026.

It’s on Audible.

Per a statement, the President said: “The six books featured in this series have stayed with me throughout my life, and each one has something to teach us about the human experience.”

We do not know the guests, but we do know the six books and they include “The Fire Next Time,” by James Baldwin; “Song of Solomon,” by Toni Morrison; “All the Pretty Horses,” by Cormac McCarthy; “Gilead,” by Marilynne Robinson; “All the King’s Men,” by Robert Penn Warren; and “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy,” by John le Carré.

I am excited to hear his thoughts on Song of Solomon since it is my one of my favorite books of all time ( after Linden Hills by Gloria Naylor) and the fact that I have always maintained that Black men in particular tend to love that book because it is the only one to center a male character. But I digress…

I’m looking forward to the podcast and can’t wait to discuss it. Stay tuned.

On today’s episode, I’m talking about Smut. Specifically, why not all romance books are smut and how we can go about telling the difference. Listen Now on Apple Podcasts or Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts and watch on Youtube.
