There is a holy freedom in every heart. It’s like a dove, yearning to escape and fly to heaven, yet with its feet entangled in the world’s web of cares, it remains imprisoned.
What if we lose the web on its feet, lift it up to God, giving Him glory in all things, and let that dove, the Holy Spirit, rise and fly?
If so, will we view the world and its fancies and cares differently? Will we finally be set free to do God’s will with holy intentions, or will we be in the abyss of the world, caring for things as if we were little gods, each controlling our own universe? We ought not be deceived into caring; instead, depend on God for everything.
“But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore ye are of more value than many sparrows.” Luke 12:7
Then why, then, should we imprison ourselves in a cage like the dove, against our Father’s wishes?
Instead, let us cut the snares that bind us to the world’s cares and offer our cares to God, uniting ourselves with Jesus Christ at Calvary.
Whether at work or in other employment, offer them to God.
Offer our trials and triumphs, sanctify them, let go of the world’s groaning cares, grasp the Holy Spirit, and be set free.
We can experience two heavens: one now on earth and the other later in heaven, and by God’s grace, we can live in both.
