In Search Of?

Then let us therefore praise and worship Him in all things and at all times. God is love, and love is in all of us and in all creatures.

All creatures are content except us humans, who are always in search. Are the plants, flowers, and trees in search of anything other than the sun and rain?

No, they search for nothing; simply by raising their leaves and branches toward heaven, they are content.

Do the creatures of the earth search for anything more than food, water, and warmth? No, they are satisfied with the things God provides them.

Then why, a creature of God’s own making, which in itself should fill our souls with gratitude and joy, is always in search of other things, such as carnal pleasures and the wiles of the world?

Ought we not be satisfied knowing we are children of God and will someday be heirs of his mighty Kingdom? What more should we seek?

Should we decline His love and mercy and serve the temporal world, or accept God’s invitation to be in union with Him for eternity?
