Our fight may not be physical, like fighting an illness; no, it is a spiritual fight. Jesus fought to save us and redeem our souls. He fought not with a spear and bow but by obeying His Father’s will.
This is our fight as well. We fight our adversary, our human nature’s inclinations toward worldly pleasures, pride, and sin.

Spiritual warfare is real!

We are weak creatures without any weapons, strength, or perseverance to endure the battle.
“Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” Luke 22: 31-32
If Jesus, the Son of God, prayed to protect his disciples, it is because he, by example, commands us to pray; otherwise, we would be sifted like wheat by the devil.
We are no match for the devil and must pray to our Divine Savior. But prayer depends on our willingness, our free will. Whether we choose to bow our knees and call upon our Savior Jesus Christ for strength is entirely up to us.
