Dear dark one on the mounting sleigh mother / father who proclaims the starlight please bring us raised voices that remember solar singing and the binding mistletoe silent space to grieve best in this dark substrate when the sun is old sleep that alleviates time like the cawing of ravens in the blue-black night Dear horned beasts who float the sky among your tines please bring us truth not the wrapping of it in pages that will outlast our nightmares bring us songs to cradle death and life into our wide-eyed souls bring us comfort that makes us porous company that makes us raucous kin that makes us breathless with their being here Ignite in silken candle fronds the truth of safe waking which every day should bring us to our knees in trembling awe bring us deep pulsating stars of hope to dig with rusty hands into the earth bring us eyes that water with the crescent cut of newborn sun and bring us silence for all the songs that sleep like golden feathers in the darker dust.
