I began making photos in gardens because I was drawn to the strong, and obvious, signs of change: dying plants, seasonal shifts, being able to clearly see when living things start to fade.
I write about art, landscape photography, landscape painting, book reviews and stories that go along with my own photo projects. There are also reviews of gallery and museum exhibits.

A few notes on Robert Adams, poetry and "Art Can Help"

Paul Kantner of the rock band Jefferson Airplane wrote the lyrics from the song Crown of Creation, mostly taken from John Wyndham’s science fiction novel, “The Chrysalids”, published in 1955.

I went out a few days ago to take some images.

The house is a flat, saturated blue, board siding running vertical instead of horizontal, which is less common here and probably why I noticed the structure itself before I noticed anything else about it.

New directions, and what stays the same
