How far will the Chiefs drive the Nuss Bus?

As I wrote yesterday on Chiefs On SI, I’ve seen enough from rookie quarterback Garrett Nussmeier. If the Chiefs don’t award him a spot on their 53-man roster, some other team will. In a league that never has enough competent quarterbacks, that’s a position of strength for this iteration of KC’s QB room.

Beyond Nussmeier, who else stood out in Kansas City’s second preseason game?

Tucker D. Franklin and I discussed another promising checkpoint for second-year receiver Jalen Royals and some explosive moments from R Mason Thomas and Felix Anudike-Uzomah that could provide a glimpse of a best-case future for the team’s unproven defensive end room.

On the other hand, it was a tough day for the team’s tackles, and arguably the end of Kahlil Benson’s bid to be the team’s starting right tackle against the Denver Broncos in Week 1, though I’ve kept Jaylon Moore penciled in for that spot all offseason.
