Precognition presents the most radical test of Bearden’s psychotronic ontology because it requires more than the transmission of information across spatial distance. Telepathy may be modeled as communication between two minds existing simultaneously, clairvoyance as the reception of a distant object’s virtual-state signature, and psychokinesis as the conversion of intention into a physical perturbation, but precognition appears to reverse the order of cause and effect by allowing information concerning an event to become present before the event itself has occurred. Any theory that preserves the future as sheer nonbeing until it emerges into actuality must either deny precognition or explain it away as coincidence, inference, retrospective distortion, or fraud. Bearden instead treats precognition as evidence that the ordinary sequence of past, present, and future is not the fundamental structure of reality. It is an artifact of monocular observation: the successive selection of exclusive physical states by a consciousness bound to photon-mediated perception. The virtual state is not divided into the same temporal compartments. Past and future coexist within the hyperspatial channel because all possible histories are virtual potentials in the orthogonal worlds from which observed reality is continuously differentiated. To perceive the future is therefore not to extract information from absolute nothingness. It is to establish resonance with a pattern that already exists virtually but has not yet been exclusively selected as the history of our physical frame.
