Would you believe that I own two sewing machines and don’t know how to sew?

I had an idea last fall for a mini pattern collection inspired by a couple of personal illustrations I did a few years ago (above).

I developed the colour palette for Prairie Life by tweaking colours pulled from reference photos I took when I was visiting the town that inspired this collection last summer.

I’ve been hard at work behind the scenes on my first collection of repeating patterns, and it’s finally ready to share.

Although I’ve made a lot repeating patterns in the past, they were always a small part of something else.

La route historique is one of the most meaningful projects I have ever worked on so I always intended to commemorate the process in a blog post.

Have you been to the new Calgary Farmers’ Market that opened in NW Calgary on Friday?

Last month my copy of the latest 3x3 Illustration Annual arrived, as did my certificate.

The opening reception for Long Tale was on Friday, March 1st.

I love beards, and I especially love drawing characters with beards.
