Are clinical wearables getting an update?

The future of preventive healthcare and imaging?
🔍 Full-body MRI scans are gaining popularity as a tool for early detection of potential health issues, offering a comprehensive view of the body’s internal structures. These scans can identify abnormalities that might not yet be causing symptoms, potentially catching serious conditions like cancer or cardiovascular diseases early.
While the technology is impressive, the approach has been polarizing the medical community, with medical professionals highlighting their heavy price tag and high rate of false positive findings, versus its supporters seeing such scans as an efficient way to catch dangerous conditions early.
At this stage, there is no evidence that full-body MRI screening is cost-effective or prolongs life in asymptomatic individuals.
As companies like Prenuvo and Ezra are showing very rapid growth in the US with plans to expand to additional geographies, they might be able to run longitudinal studies on large patient cohorts to demonstrate the benefits of this preventive approach at a health system level.
Only time will tell.

🧫 A new era of targeted therapy: monoclonal antibodies
Monoclonal antibodies are a cornerstone of modern medicine, providing targeted treatment for diseases like cancer. But the journey started back in 1975 when César Milstein and Georges Köhler discovered how to create these lab-made molecules for the first time.
Before this breakthrough, treating diseases often meant affecting healthy tissues with hardcore chemical treatments, leading to many side effects. Monoclonal antibodies changed that by allowing doctors to target only diseased cells, making treatments more effective and less harmful. This innovation opened the door to personalized medicine and has since saved countless lives.
