I said, "My soul is weary and tired,"
The Lord replied, "My grace is by your side."
I said, "They broke my heart and caused me pain,"
The Lord replied, "Yet close to you I remain."
I said, "They all walked away and left me alone,"
The Lord replied, "My presence is forever your own."
I said, "My spirit is heavy and sad,"
The Lord replied, "Just call Me, and let your heart be glad."
I cried, "So much I wept, so much I burned,
Yet no one came, no one returned."
The Lord replied,
"In the heart where I make My dwelling place,
They need no other shield or embrace."
I said, "Whoever comes just leaves a scar,"
The Lord replied,
"When weary and broken by the world you are,
When every earthly bond falls apart and through,
Return to Me, for I am waiting for you."
I placed my hand on my chest, and looked up at the sky,
Where a shooting star faded, silently passing by.
And in that single moment, my heart found its peace,
Knowing that human ties may fail, but my Lord's love will never cease.
