It is not even September and yet this morning very much feels like the first day of fall.

I’ve followed the visual artist Russ Pope for a long time, and I always appreciate his “morning workout” videos—brief sketches that he starts the day with to loosen up and get the creative energy flowing.

It was a lovely day—warm with a spring breeze—and both Tony and Ron were out.

Summer 2014.

It had been a strange week, starting with the flowers.

You could make the argument that the top of Green Mountain is like an altar to the LA Freeway. From its sweeping perspective to the west and north, the immediate foothills no longer obscure the further horizon and the summits of the Continental Divide proudly score the skyline. The summit plaque reflects many of these distant peaks where, living in Boulder, we watch the drama of the seasons…
