The spirit of Avurudu brought with it much-needed moments of pause and reflection. This month reminded us of the importance of reconnecting: with each other, with purpose, and with the rhythms that ground the work we do. Here’s a look at what April held for us, and what we’re carrying forward 🌱

→ Good Life X has partnered with the UN Global Compact Network Sri Lanka, joining the SDG Innovation Coalition to advance regenerative, inclusive economic models. The collaboration will drive innovation, cross-sector partnerships, and business solutions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, reinforcing that sustainability is the baseline, not the limit 🌱

→ We also welcomed Lady J as a market partner for Cohort 1 of the Hyacinthesis Accelerator🪻 This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to supporting regenerative enterprises and building resilient communities through handicrafts and fashion-related products developed within the programme.

The initiative is supported by Scott Dunn Travel, Conservation Collective, and Lanka Environment Fund, and implemented by The Foundation For A Good Life in partnership with GLX 🤝

A new episode of the Scale the Good Podcast features a cross-city conversation among Researcher and Design Educator Dilina Janadith from the Colombo cohort and Development Sector professional Anushka Maheshwary from the Bengaluru cohort🌡 The episode reflects on how rising temperatures are reshaping everyday life, while highlighting the need for approaches that look back at indigenous knowledge, as well as the importance of contextualising logic of the Global North when applying to the South Asian context.

A win for Lala Studio ✨ Their studio was featured in the “Maker Spaces & Other Places” open house tour by the Geoffrey Bawa Trust. For the first time, Lala Studio opened its doors to the public, offering a glimpse into its creative space 🌈

The team also incorporated an upcycled rack from Colomboscope into the studio, reinforcing their commitment to repurposing and sustainability ♻️ The experience was further enriched by showcasing a video from The Routes We Take 2024 exhibition, highlighting their ongoing creative journey 🌿🎥

→ Alumnus AGC Innovate successfully conducted five university sessions for large number of student this month - engaging 308 student participants as part of the Circular Economy in the Food Sector Programme🎓✨ These sessions created valuable platforms for knowledge-sharing, inspiring students with practical insights, innovative thinking, and real-world perspectives

Our partner Lanka Environment Fund, along with Club Ceylon, launched: A Practical Guide to Purchasing Responsible Seafood, making sustainable seafood choices more accessible and empowering communities with the knowledge to protect our oceans and marine ecosystems.
