A Fredericton man scheduled to stand trial later this year on allegations he caused the death of his children’s mother by driving under the influence of drugs has been found fit to stand trial by a psychiatrist.
Brandon Robert Reid, 38, of Douglas Avenue, is in custody on Oct. 25, 2024, charges driving while impaired by cocaine and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and thereby causing the death of Justine Paul, having an elevated blood-drug concentration within two hours of driving and causing her death, and dangerous driving causing her death.
He elected to be tried in provincial court and pleaded not guilty to those charges late last year.
