A Hanwell man will spend the next couple of months under house arrest after a judge sentenced him to a community-based sentence for tearing up church grounds last fall and driving dangerously.
Gabriel Longstaff, 23, of Route 640, was back in Fredericton provincial court Tuesday for sentencing.
He previously pleaded guilty to Nov. 15 counts of dangerous driving, flight from police in a motor vehicle and mischief causing more than $5,000 in damage to the lawn of Hanwell Community Church.
Crown prosecutor Patricia Gillett told the court Tuesday that police received a call about someone in an SUV doing donuts on the grounds of the church.
