No Cost Well Water Nitrate Screening, 3 – 7 p.m., foyer, Sunset Building, 4077 SW Research Way. Bring 1/2 a cup of well water in a clean cup to be tested. Testing takes about 10 minutes. Nolan Wells Birthday Vigil, 4:30 p.m., Linn County Courthouse steps, 300 4th Ave. SW, Albany. The public is invited to join members of the Linn Benton NAACP Branch in honoring the life of Nolan Wells in a gathering on what would have been Wells; 19th birthday. Special guest speaker and Past Branch President, Dr. Jason J. Dorsette, will be joined in song by Heather Carmichael, the winner of this year’s Linn Benton Adult Idol Competition. Participants are welcome to bring battery operated candles, or candles with drip catchers, to use at the vigil.

Philomath Museum: Centuries of Celebration Exhibit Tour, 10 – 11:30 a.m., Philomath Museum, 1101 Main St. From the grand spectacle of the 1876 Centennial to the patriotic fervor of the 1976 Bicentennial, this exhibit explores how Americans have commemorated the nation’s milestones. Featuring artifacts, memorabilia, and cultural symbols from both celebrations, the exhibit highlights how each era reflected the values, aspirations, and spirit of its time. Led by Anya Ballinger, Education Coordinator. Pre-registration required, tour size limited. No fee, but donations are welcome.
