Public Hearing for Samaritan and MultiCare Health System Proposed Affiliation, 9 a.m., online. MultiCare Health System, a Washington-domiciled nonprofit corporation based in Tacoma, Washington, intends to acquire indirect control of Samaritan by becoming its sole corporate member. Prior to deciding whether the transaction should be approved, the Department of Consumer and Business Services is conducting a virtual hearing to allow the public to learn more about the transaction and provide comment on the proposed transaction. AUG 25 — Academy for Lifelong Learning (ALL) - Greenbelt Land Trust Current and Future Projects, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. ALL will meet at the Bald Hill Farmhouse, learn of the restoration projects and have a guided tour on a private trail. Afterwards members are welcome to bring a picnic lunch and linger inside or outdoors and walk any of the nearby trails. The farmhouse has running water and restrooms. SEPT. 17 – OCT. 22 — Communicate for a Change, 6 – 8 p.m., to be held in Southtown Corvallis. If you are wondering how to have better conversations around difficult topics this workshop is for you. Whether it’s with your co-worker, teenager, partner, spouse, or neighbor, come learn ways to build stronger relationships through more effective communication. SEPT. 18 – OCT. 27 — Benton County Sheriff’s Office Citizens’ Academy. Provides citizens with an opportunity to learn about the Sheriff’s Office.
