Benton County Fair & Rodeo, 11 a.m. – 12 a.m. daily, now through Saturday, Benton County Fairgrounds, 110 SW 53rd St. Four days and nights of entertainment, including rodeos, carnival rides, 4-H exhibits, contests and youth livestock auctions. Friday night features Queen tribute band Queen Nation on the Main Stage, while Saturday closes the fair with country artists Jacquie Roar and Hunter Hayes. Also not to miss is the Willamette Valley Fiddle Contest and the Beard, Mustache & Goatee Competition, both on Saturday. Merely Players Presents: Much Ado About a Handkerchief, 7:30 p.m., Majestic Theatre, 115 SW 2nd St. Experience Shakespeare’s beloved comedy Much Ado About Nothing in a way you’ve never seen before, in this original Merely Players mashup of Much Ado and Othello. Much Ado famously teeters right on the edge of disaster before pulling everyone back from the brink to celebrate a (mostly) happy ending of reconciliation and rekindled love. JULY 31 — Deadline to complete the Owens Farm Sensory Trails Survey. The survey is for members of the disability community, including people with any type of disability, family members, and caregivers. This survey is a part of the Owens Farm Sensory Trail Project, which includes the planning and development of a universal access and sensory trail system that will be located in Corvallis. See here.

JULY 31 — Registration deadline to compete in the Oregon Senior Games. Compete in pickleball or table tennis in the Oregon Senior Games to be held in Corvallis, Aug. 13 – 17. See here.

AUG 7 — Corvallis Arts Walk Meetup, 4 – 6 p.m., Corvallis Foundry, 257 SW Madison Ave., Suite 210 (stairs and elevator between Guardian Games and Precision Martial Arts). The Corvallis Arts Walk happens every third Thursday, but the artists and businesses on it rarely get to meet each other. Most are busy running their own stops, greeting visitors, and keeping their own corners of the walk alive. The August 7th CAW Meetup is a chance for that to change. Current, past, and future Arts Walk artists, craftspeople, and participating businesses are invited to gather in one place to meet, share what they are working on, talk through challenges, and find creative connections. The public is welcome too. The event is free, casual, and open to anyone with an interest in Corvallis’s arts and creative community. Come when you can, leave when you need to. See here to register.

AUG 7 - Corvallis Hiroshima, Nagasaki Commemoration, 6:30 p.m., Riverfront Park Howland Plaza, 1st and Madison. Renewing the pledge to promote peace and end war. Guest speaker is Vincent Intondi. Enjoy live traditional koto music with Masumi Timson, international award-winning singer Halie Loren, Stephen Pierce, Dances of Universal Peace, and displays. The program culminates at dusk with a candlelight procession lantern-lit flotilla on the Willamette River. Sponsored by Oregon State University School of History, Philosophy and Religion, Veterans for Peace, Corvallis Divest from War, and Corvallis Interfaith Network.

AUG 9 - Sadako Family Peace Day, 1 – 3 p.m., Corvallis Museum, 411 SW 2nd St. Music, artwork, dancing, and paper-crane making.

AUG 10 — Deadline to complete a Survey on Needs and Opportunities for a Rural Area Shuttle. Benton Area Transit received an Innovative Mobility Fund grant to study transit options to improve mobility and access to essential services for all rural residents in Benton County. Providing your input will help understand transit needs and guide the development of potential shuttle alternatives. See here.

AUG. 22 — Chintimini Wildlife Center’s Wild Summer Days, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., 311 NW Lewisburg Ave. Chintimini Wildlife Center will be joined by the Oregon Coast Aquarium, KidSpirit - Oregon State University, and Benton County Master Gardener Association. Party Perfection Oregon will have face painting for sale, with all proceeds going to CWC. There will by food vendors and activities for the whole family. See here for tickets.

SEPT. 27 — 47th Annual Fall Festival Run. Established in 1978, the trio of races (a 5K, 10K, and 1K Kids Run) are held on the Sunday morning of the Corvallis Fall Festival weekend. Walkers are welcome. Presented by the Heart of the Valley Runners. See here to register.

OCT 4 — Condor 25K Trail Run. The run begins and ends at the Forestry Cabin at Peavy Arboretum in McDonald Forest. It is a supporting race in the Corvallis Trail Series. See here for registration.
