I have a message for you. I hope you hear it. Here’s the message:
You are a wonderful, unique and totally awesome person! As Dr. Seuss said, “Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” He also said, “Why fit in when you were born to stand out?”
Indeed.
If you won’t take my word for it, and you can’t take Dr. Seuss’s word for it, how about Ernest Holmes: “You belong to the universe in which you live, you are one with the Creative Genius back of this vast array of ceaseless motion, this original flow of life. You are as much a part of it as the sun, the earth and the air.”
Here’s some more quotes:
Maya Angelou: “You alone are enough. You have nothing to prove to anybody.”
Osho: “The only thing that matters in life is your own opinion about yourself.”
Michelle Obama: “Your success will be determined by your own confidence and fortitude.”
Louise Hay: “Remember, you have been criticizing yourself for years, and it hasn’t worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens.”
And then there is Jerome, my giant rooster. Jerome used to get blown over a lot by the winds we have out here in rural northern Nevada. Then I hired a handyman to come over and build a cement block to anchor him in. He stands tall and proud now, no matter what.
Metaphorically, we can get blown over in life until we find an anchor. That anchor is within each and every one of us. Once anchored, the winds of life will no longer have the power to blow us over.
Today, I connect with the Anchor within me, allowing me to stand tall and proud!
