Over the last 8 weeks I led the first ever Erotic Awakening group program for gay men. A journey of sexual healing, erotic empowerment, relearning self-pleasure and having better sex. As the doors open for the next round (will you join us?!), these are the 7 lessons I learned about erotic healing for gay men.
You can consume all the information in the world and still not see any transformation. I can very easily get trapped in this one. I love learning. But just taking the information into your mind doesn’t create healing or change in your body.
Reading a book, doing a course, watching a video, listening to a podcast, going to a workshop. All wonderful things to do. But without doing the work, doing the practices, doing the exercises… not much changes in your nervous system, the way you have sex, the way your masturbate and experience pleasure.
If you want something different, you have to do something different.
You can understand your own sexuality perfectly and still feel nothing new in your body.
What changes things is doing it. And having someone guide you, supporting you, and keeping you accountable, while you do.
Someone who has your back, who has walked the path, and who is still walking it. Who you can bring your questions to, and who holds you when you’re struggling. Accountability, I’ve come to see, is not optional. It’s the game changer we all need!
The 30 men had that with me, with the WhatsApp group, with the zoom calls and the community over the last 2 months on The Erotic Awakening group program.
The way the group buzzed and pulsed with love whenever one of the guys hit a wall or had a hard week moved me every single time.
Love, support, recognition, empathy.
Men holding each other, cheering each other on, celebrating each other’s breakthroughs as if they were their own… it was beautiful.
That is the difference between information and transformation.
Information you consume alone on your sofa and never do anything with.
Transformation happens with the culmination of information + practice + support and accountability.
As one of the men said, “Gary guides you every step of the way, telling you what to do each day and each week. It’s laid out so well and easy to follow. And most of all, it works.”
With love and pleasure, Gary x
