And it has been bliss.

I’ve set down my headphones, picked up books and made a conscious decision not to rush — whether that’s in movement or in my mind. The feeling of relief it’s created has been profound.

The thing is, nothing has changed in my world. Life is exactly as it has been. I still have the same wants, the same amount of time and the same responsibilities. I’ve just chosen to carry them a little lighter and make them mean a little less.

As someone who likes to achieve, it’s easy to find yourself becoming a productivity machine — because truly, that feels good too. But when the life you dream about and the life you’re creating aren’t in alignment, it creates tension.

So I decided to step back, look at my day-to-day differently and focus on less, slower, better.

And it has been.
