Another month has come and gone. And what a month it’s been for me. I’ve fallen in love with a beautiful woman named Linda 💛. Unfortunately, I've also had some less positive personal news in my family. So it's been a month of extremes. It’s also been a month with high temperatures and high humidity. Partly because of this, I haven’t had as much motivation for my lettering. Although, I’ve had some more practice with my calligraphy. For example, I've calligraphed the name of my sister-in-law on an envelope. And I haven’t skipped any of my runs, despite the heat. It’s a good practice to look back at your month and see what you’ve accomplished & what gave you energy. My bullet journal helps me a lot with this.
🎶 All Mirrors
On Tuesday, Angel Olsen released a new single: All Mirrors (listen on Spotify). I love it, both the single and the video, which has some beautiful imagery. Pitchfork named it Best New Track. Angel Olsen also announced a new album with the same title and a new tour. In February, she's coming to Paradiso, Amsterdam, so I will try to buy tickets for this concert. I saw her in 2017 in TivoliVredenburg, Utrecht, which was marvellous.
🎪 De Parade
Last Saturday I've been to the traveling theatre festival called De Parade in Utrecht. It always has a relaxed & positive atmosphere. Among other things, we went to Sven Ratzke & Band. It was a preview of his new show Where are we now. "The show is an intimate rollercoaster into the world of David Bowie, with brand new songs and classics in beautiful new arrangements." It was unexpectedly good. I might even go to the full show next year.
📚 Keep Going
I’m still reading Keep Going by Austin Kleon. It isn't a large book, but there is so much wisdom in there, and I've been taking notes; this takes some time, but it allows me to better process & remember the content.
💜 Jaiden Animations
I’m a big fan of Jaiden Animations on YouTube. She makes funny, insightful & witty animations. Mostly about her own life. Also, she's pretty nerdy, awkward & introverted, like me.
