One thing that I like about being a writer and historian is that I like doing research so much while having a nice Irish or Scotch whiskey that it it kind of like work and play at the same time. Since I live within 2 miles of some of our more important repair yards for Navy and Coast Guard ships, I get to see how long it takes to get them back to a fully operational status. That’s actually nice for a Naval and Maritime Junkie like me.
So I have been researching and writing my latest part of my exceptionally long, multi-part article on the collapse of the U.S. Navy and the United States shipbuilding sector. There is a lot of historical material to go through if you look at our history, especially after 1990, the end of the Cold War and the illusion of the United States as the sole superpower, especially after vanquishing Saddam Hussein’s Iraq after his invasion of Kuwait in 1990. I am having to sort through articles and government reports, especially those of the Navy and Maritime Administration going back 30-40 years. Thankful the current regime hasn’t expunged them, probably because they ar so old that most never mention the Mango Mussolini.
So, all that being said, I hope to finish and publish that section tomorrow sometime. So until then, have a good night and better tomorrow.
