this dear day, a recent poem + a song to share for you…
Text within this block will maintain its original spacing when published
the knower and the known
be aware
how quietly
the room is already holding you.
black raven clicks only once,
traffic coils itself far, far away,
mind thought rises as, light
mist lifting from a morning star river
then, poof! it’s gone.
don’t dare chase it.
you are sitting, rock mountain
azure blue, wide sky heaven,
this wordless open space, stillness
in which everything always
appears.
here,
without even trying,
you are only ever this:
clear eyes wide open, still wondering
knowing that you know—pure awareness
fully rests well
within itself.
that old wooden chair,
one greasy, grimy window,
a slow, long drift of breath
all the knowing and the known
passing gently through,
tenderly, easily.
more soundless than passing,
untouched by what awakens,
the knower and
the known
simply
is.
