Finish this sentence:

I’ve never been good at _________.

My guess is that your brain quickly filled in the blank without much effort.

Whether it’s dance, math, drawing, or a sense of direction, most people are acutely aware of what they are bad at and will use that as an excuse to not do it.

When you avoid things you’re bad at, you’re being a neuroplasticity blocker. (This is a term I just made up to describe someone who prevents their own neural growth.)

People tend to stick to what they’re good at - especially as they get older.

But being “bad” at something is a necessary part of neuroplasticity.

Failure is how you learn.

If refuse to fail, you refuse to grow. And your neurons miss out on making new connections.

This is a series about small things daily that can increase neuroplasticity - delivered in less than 1 minute. Become a paid subscriber to unlock the full series.
