Last Friday, the Cottage summer series, Parables & Pentecost, concluded with a truly generative conversation on parables and poetry featuring Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer.
The series was based on six essays from A Beautiful Year. The entire experience was seven weeks long — including video, audio, images, poetry, and written reflections.
The video conversations ranged from first-rate biblical scholarship to practices of storytelling, personal narratives and political concerns, and ended with a breathtaking hour on the poetry of the parables!
The whole series is collected into this single email. I hope this makes it easier to use, revisit, and save.
The audio and written posts can be accessed by the entire Cottage community. The videos are limited to only paid subscribers. You can still sign up as a paid subscriber for the entire series — all of the components are available here (in this email) or at the Cottage website ARCHIVE.
In other words, summer at the Cottage isn’t over! You can still enjoy the full summer experience on your own time and schedule.
Pastors, educators, and reading group leaders: At the conclusion of this series, you are welcome to use these posts as the basis for 6-week sermon series or with small groups. There are great materials in every post, including thoughtful discussion questions to be used with each reading.
All you need to do is make sure I’m given authorial credits, mention that these were published at The Cottage, and encourage people to purchase A Beautiful Year (which is just a nice thing to do!).
