Hey everyone! I hope you’re doing well. How’s your summer so far? Or are you in winter like me?
This time of year has shown to be really difficult for me emotionally and work wise. I’m homesick and lonely but I’m working really hard on finding solutions to those feelings and understanding where to go from here. I just never really prepared myself for the depth of the feeling of homesickness.
Maybe I make a comic about it. Comics make life better.
Have you ever felt homesick? How did you handle your feelings?
Night Fox is coming along. Not as quickly as I’d hoped but it’s better than nothing. I’m proud of the work I’m doing and can’t wait for more of the story to be drawn. It’s a story that got me all teary eyed when I read the script and I’m hoping it’ll find someone who needs it.
I’m also still working hard on Mareen Life, my current graphic novel pitch that’s out on submission. It wasn’t picked up with the first round of submissions, which is okay. I wanted to rewrite the synopsis and I think it came out so much stronger and way more fun.
I’m even redrawing the pitch pages but those won’t be out on submission with this next round. I just want to do it for me so I have a firmer grasp of what I want the book to look like when I actually make it. Because I have faith that it will happen!
