Dear all,
Hello from the constant rabbit hole that is vibe coding.
Mostly from my sofa, fully embedded in the Winter Olympics, now fluent in curling strategy — I eventually got around to redesigning my website and it turns out to be more useful than ever already, so here’s the work in progress:
First, the thing many of you originally signed up for: concert recommendations. My favourite musicians’ tour dates are now automatically cross-referenced with my favourite cities, and whenever Pretty Hôtels has a recommendation in one of those cities, that shows up too, so you have a beautiful place to stay. It’ll be always up to date, as the musician's websites directly provide the data, so you can significantly up your concert outings!
Second, I went through eight years’ worth of letters and distilled every single recommendation - videos, books, movies, music, essays etc. - into one categorized overview page. So you no longer have to dig through the archive to find that one album I mentioned back in 2021.
I hope this new setup provides some value to all of you. It’s been a lot of fun to build, and if you’re curious about how you could do the same or have a general interest in what’s possible with AI at the moment: you’re more than welcome to reach out, I’d be happy to chat.
One new recommendation to leave you with: Milano, per amore
While visiting the Olympics also IRL, I saw the beautiful collaboration between the Pinacoteca di Brera and the late Giorgio Armani. It’s on until May 3rd and I highly recommend you visit it, too.
Stay curious, stay curated -
David
