Recent feedback (aka unsubscribes) delivered a clear message, so I’m loading you up with music recommendations that should carry you over the coming weeks.
At last week’s visit to Stockholm’s ABBA museum, I discovered that Björn & Benny actually released a duo album before taking the world by storm with Waterloo. You can clearly hear some very ABBA-like sequences already, including songs in accent-free German. Listen to Lycka here!
I rarely venture into French chansons, but I’ve been a long-time fan of ZAZ and she’s finally back with a new album. Sains et saufs is definitely worth a listen!
After witnessing an extremely funny fireside chat with Stewart Copeland, I checked out his post-Police oeuvre and his Wild Concerto definitely stands out. It’s released on the genre-defying label Platoon, which I’ll be keeping an eye on.
If you’d like to do some digging yourself, regularly check grains: where neoclassical meets electronic and film scores, without the algorithm nonsense.
Without a doubt, Robbie Williams’s new album Britpop will be playing on loop this Friday while I’m en route to London. (Release day, impeccable timing.)
