Danielle Moss · Breakfast at Toast

Can you believe tomorrow is August 1?! The kids go back to school in a few weeks. I always get a little antsy this time of year and want to cram in as much summer fun as possible, but we’re moving in two weeks.

July was a big month for us! I had the surgery I’ve been wanting for over 20 years, my oldest turned 8, we started construction on our new house. And the highlight of our summer, Estelle (our au pair from July 2023 - January 2025) was here all month.

I am feeling a lot better and have been getting out and actually getting dressed the last week or so, and just want to make the most of these warm days. Here’s a look at everything you didn’t see in July.

Recent Finds, Favorites, and Deals

Let’s start with some codes and sales:

Use my link to get 60% off Dottie’s fresh dog food. I knew I wanted to have Dottie on a fresh food diet to start since I changed Buddy from kibble to fresh food after his heart murmur diagnosis, and I know that his food gave us more time together. Eleven more years, to be exact. Bonus: Dottie prefers The Farmer’s Dog, and it’s more affordable, too.

Today only, Cann is giving away a FREE Spritz bottle (Cann’s Infused Apéritif) with every order. I recommend ordering this — it’s unflavored and can be added to anything.

Hill House is having a huge sale. Get an extra 30% off with code STOCKROOM. Hill House has so many good pieces right now. I shared all my favorites in my shop.

I had to hold back from buying this bag.

I’ve been borrowing bags from Vivrelle for a while now and love getting to try new bags without buying them. Vivrelle extended my code for you! Use DANIELLEMOSS for your first month free.

My embroidered poplin top is on sale.

And recent finds and purchases:

This 90s tote isn’t on sale but it’s so cute, and I didn’t exactly need it, but I had to buy it.

A smaller brown bag has been on my list for a while, and I finally landed on this one.

Midi’s daily fiber gummies have become a daily essential.

I just ordered new white sneakers for all three kids. Our favorite Nikes are on sale. And I’m glad I procrastinated ordering these because they’re on sale now.

These shorts were a must-have.

I think I have to get these Lego houses for the kids as soon as they launch tomorrow. Legos have kept them busy (and quiet!) for HOURS every day, so it feels like a worthwhile purchase.

Weezie sent me this vanity case. I already have this set of 3 which is great for everything from makeup to tote bag essentials.

What We’ve Been Up To

We started construction on our new house and are trying to get as much done as possible before moving in, all while enjoying the last month of summer before the kids go back to school.

My oldest turned 8, and we planned a special day with two of her best friends. I booked manicure/pedicures for the kids (little brother and sister came, too) and then Estelle and I took the girls to lunch, Claire’s, and to the movies. And it turns out that I still can’t sing happy birthday to her without crying. We’re so lucky she’s here.

My youngest came along for the first part of her party and got his first mani pedi at a salon. He said “I wanna stay here a lot. They got beds here?” so I think he liked it.

I was out of commission for a few weeks, so I tried to pack in some fun the week before Estelle left. We took the girls to the Hello Kitty Cafe, the Harry Potter store, and lunch at Pizzeria Portofino.

The whole family spent an afternoon at Six Flags. It wasn’t Disneyland, but we had a fun time, and my three year-old rode (and loved) his first (mini) roller coaster!

And behind the paywall…
