If you read my last post, you saw what we’re selling before the move, and what’s coming with us. Today I want to share what I’ve purchased for our new home so far.
My friend and designer Kira David flew in for the day last week and we designed all four bedrooms in 24 hours. It was so fun getting to do this with her! I’m focused on the bedrooms for now, with a couple of exceptions, and will move on to the bathrooms, then the kitchen early next year.
The thing that’s been fun and different about decorating this house is that Conor is completely uninvolved with the decorating process. Whenever I show him something he’s just like “That looks great. Whatever you want.” And it’s the best.
Everyone’s getting new beds. Our current four poster is too big for our new room, the girls are getting larger mattresses, and our son is getting his first bed. I’m planning to keep him in the crib for a while, so we’ll see how that goes once there’s a real bed in his room. I actually wanted the spindle bed for our bedroom, but Kira had other ideas, and I’m so happy we went with upholstered. Still, I really wanted the spindle, so I bought it for my 6 year-old.
Here’s everything Kira and I ordered for our new home so far.
