Happy Saturday! It’s going to rain all day here, so it’s shaping up to be a Lego/craft day mixed in with a little packing. Because somehow, it’s already August. I want to share my July favorites before this month flies by.

July was hot. So hot that I caved and bought a personal cooling fan. I also wore the same pair of gingham shorts every single week. Does anyone else wear their favorite pieces multiple times a week or is it just me?

Here are the thirteen things, from beauty and style to a few random life upgrades, that made the cut last month.

  1. Having Estelle here with us. If you’re new here, Estelle was our au pair for a year and-a-half, and came to visit for over a month last summer, and has been with us for about five weeks. She was scheduled to leave Monday but no one was ready to say goodbye (we never will be) so she’s staying for 2.5 more weeks!

  2. Shark Ninja Chill Pill. This personal cooling fan might seem gimmicky, but it has been so nice to have on hot days. It’s a 3-in-1 fan with a cooling plate that can be directly applied to your skin, a cool mist, and a high-speed fan. It’s definitely a nice-to-have if you run hot like I do.

  3. Varley Knit Tank. Sometimes I want to pair something that isn’t a basic tee or tank with a poplin short or pant. This knit tank is lightweight enough to wear on a warm summer day and looks cute with everything.

  4. Working with Kira. I have loved working on the house with Kira. We don’t usually talk that often so it’s just fun to see her and text with her, but I’ve really enjoyed the design process. She gets me.

  5. Veronica Beard Gingham Shorts. I’ve worn these shorts at least once a week all summer. The matching vest is really cute, but I usually pair them with a white tank or tee.

  6. Dorsey Moissanite Necklace This necklace is one of those pieces I thought was fun, but didn’t realize I would put it on and not take it off all season.

  7. Supergoop Sheer Body SPF. I have been using Supergoop’s sheer sunscreen stick and unseen sunscreen (which also functions as a primer) for a few years now, but just discovered the sheer body sunscreen. It’s completely sheer, weightless, and unscented, too.

  8. La Veste Towel Dress. This is one of my favorite cover-ups and happens to be one of those pieces I get complements on whenever I wear it.

  9. Baublebar Custom Alpha Tote. Baublebar sent me this tote (currently on sale) in the large size, and I’ve been using it to hold all of my fabric samples. I love this one, too (not on sale but so cute!).

  10. Londontown’s Camden Chic. The perfect bright reddish-orange (clean beauty) summer nail color.

  11. Magsafe Tripod Stand. I haven’t been filming as much but this magsafe tripod will be great for that, and we use it whenever we FaceTime my sisters.

  12. On-The-Go First Aid Kit. Welly products aren’t new to me, but this little kit has been a hero this summer, and it’s small enough to fit in any bag. I keep this larger one in the car.

  13. CBD infused seltzer. I am a lightweight and appreciate that this seltzer comes in 3, 5, and 10 mg. I tried the 10mg THC and didn’t feel high — I just felt relaxed.

  14. Our New Dining Chairs. Our kitchen chairs were trashed, so I am very excited about this purchase. I was looking for wood (sturdier than woven), and not upholstered (learned that lesson the hard way) and love the look.

  15. My kids entering their Lego era. I loved building with Legos as a kid, so little me is loving that my kids are in their Lego era. When I suggested breaking down their broken Lego sets, I didn’t realize it would turn into hours of building every day. And as a shock to no one, I needed to organize said Legos. I decided on these boxes and inserts, which keep everything organized.

  1. Call It By Your Name Tote. My husband and I just booked a trip to CA in September (our second trip together without kids since becoming parents and that’s ok), and I’d love to bring this tote as my carry-on, but I just ordered this one, so it’s probably not happening.

  2. Another Pair of Donni Pants. I didn’t say I was going to do it, but I also didn’t say I wasn’t going to do it. I have these in (solid) black and blue gingham, and they’re just so comfortable, I feel good in them, and I wear them all the time. I especially love the black gingham!

  3. Moving. No, I don’t love everything about the moving process, but Conor and I both feel so good about this move. We’re moving into a smaller home and simplifying our lives a lot as a result, which feels so good. I will write more on this soon.

  4. Lightweight Jackets. Let me be clear. I am not wishing summer away at all. Fall is too short and winter is too long. That said, I like this jacket, and do enjoy when temps are in the 60s. I just wish they would stop there.

  5. Raffia Bag. This bag needs no explanation, and there are too many bags on this list.

Tell me 1-2 July favorites and something on. your list for August. And please include some fun summer ideas if you have them! We all need more of that.
