Our ongoing community interview series is serving up another episode of genuine sustainability conversations. No venture capital buzzwords here, folks.

Just real Berliners sharing why they actually give a damn about the planet. Think less “disrupting the circular economy paradigm” and more “your neighbour who’s genuinely excited about composting and isn’t insufferable about it.”

We launched Connect Climate TV back in summer 2025 with a simple mission: elevate the voices of people in Berlin who have heart, soul, and an actual pulse when it comes to sustainability.

Not another climate tech bro explaining how their app will save the world. Just authentic humans doing authentic things.

And that’s where Izzy comes in ⤵

This edition features Izzy, and trust me, she’s the main character energy you need right now. Izzy’s a community builder and award-winning storyteller who’s been collecting people and stories like some Berliners collect protest stickers.

Her journey started with radio shows and journalism gigs before she dove into the film industry. But plot twist: she craved more purpose (relatable), so she snagged a master’s in Sustainable Business & Innovation and pivoted to social impact work.

Now, as Head of Community at Impact Hub Berlin, she’s basically the person connecting all the dots—bringing startups and changemakers together because, shocker, collaboration actually works.

Oh, and in her spare time? She’s coaching storytelling for tiny clients 😉 like Lufthansa Group and Samsung Germany.

Honestly, this interview was a joy. Izzy has this magical ability to make you lean in, pay attention, and genuinely care.

After watching, you might actually feel connected to the sustainability community here. Wild, right? In a city where making eye contact on the U-Bahn is considered aggressive friendship, that’s no small feat.
