Prelude:
Along with my sharing here on HELLACIOUS HEALING BLUES, I've dreamed of bringing a MINISTRY, (I am an ordained minister… tee hee hee), but I didn't want to take YEARS of seminary schooling or stand up in front of a pulpit per'se even though I've stood on many stages pouring my heart out and that is my preferred stage.
THE TRUTH IS,
I have had what many spiritual teachers have sometimes said to their students:
"May you live in interesting times," or "May you have an interesting life."
Well it seems at my age of 67... ha ha ha! I laugh because, well, if you are this age, you know why I laugh... you say "90 is old! I'm not old!" HAAAAA!!! Anyway I digress... it seems I have had both an interseting life and I do live in EXTREMELY interesting times. So what I'm getting at is that I have indeed accumulated a lifetime of a MINISTRY OF THE BLUES.
Some job applications require a college degree and some will say "or relevant job experience." Well Peeps, I've been on the damn job for 67 years and I've got the "LIFE" experience baby, which to me is the best kind... so I feel quite QUALIFIED to bring you my story and much more in my new:
MINISTRY OF THE BLUES PODCAST on You Tube
At this point, this podcast is barely off the ground with a little "Vocal Warmup with Cee Cee James" ‘off the cuff’ podcast I did last week just to give it a try. It's informative, funny and has some good vocal warmup exercies in it along with a little wisdom here and there inbetween. I felt it was appropriate for the podcast since this warmup has been with me my entire lifetime of singing the blues.
So I hope you will head over, check it out and Subscribe ~ make sure to hit the notifications bell ~ 🔔 ~ to be ready for the next epoisode which I hope will cover the first 10 years of coming out of the womb into a FULL BLOWN MADHOUSE OF TRAUMA ... which of couse set the stage for the beginnings of my innocent shattered heart.
And a BONUS for viewers… in the next episode Rob will be joining me for a live rendition of COLD HARD GUN - a song I wrote about my Stepfather who was part of that first 10 years.

MINISTRY OF THE BLUES! Encompassing a lifetime of how I came to be a blues singer. The learning, the coming up, the struggles, the chase, the proving ground, the learning, the so-called failures... the confusion... the angst.. the ache.. the touring.. all wrapped up inside of a girl who didn't know exactly what she wanted on this road to the lights, camera, action, sweat and aching bones - but she just knew that she wanted it - but the BIG ALWAYS LOOMING problem was that I didn't know how to truly go about getting it. Today I'm free of most of all of that.. except.. I still want it. I still gotta do it. I still gotta write, give, sing, perform, sweat and come home with aching bones. So while I'm still going after it, while I'm still alive and kickin,' I wanna share where I've been with it all and how it brought me to where I am today and gave me the BAD ASS HEART that I have. 'Cause it is bad ass. As I sing in my song "Stripped Down and Surrendered" off our CD of the same title: "50 years, day and night Dancin' on tables tryin' to prove I was alright But here I am, all that's done and gone And my heart feels as big as a damn King Kong" And that my friends is bad ass! Thank you God!
