Kevin Shoemaker · Living Well from Capital City Vineyard

Join us this week for our Sunday Worship Gathering at CCV, tomorrow at 10am. As we move into the Advent season we want to prepare for our annual celebration of the incarnation of Jesus. Tomorrow Pastor Kevin will be teaching on the first part of Isaiah’s famous prophecy from Isaiah 9:6: “Jesus is the Wonderful Counselor”.

Next Sunday we’ll share a special joint worship gathering with SOCC as we continue to move toward coming together in January.

Sunday, December 7th at 10am: Sunday Worship Gathering at CCV

Sunday, December 7th at 6:30pm: Fire By Night Worship at SOCC

Tuesday, December 9th at 6:30pm: Home Group at Shoemakers’

Sunday, December 14th at 10am: United Worship Gathering at SOCC

Have a hunger for more fellowship with your brothers and sisters in Christ? Have an interest in how to deepen your own Spiritual Formation? Or, at the very least, do you enjoy a good potluck meal? If any or all of these apply to you, we’d love to have you join us for home group on Tuesday nights at the Shoemaker’s home in Haslett. We’ll begin with a potluck meal at 6:30pm, then transition to a time of worship, discussion & prayer using John Mark Comer’s video materials on “Practicing The Way”. Each month we’ll focus on a different spiritual discipline, learning how to implement these practices in our own walk with the Lord. This week we’ll continue our study on the spiritual practice of Prayer.

For nearly one year now we’ve been publicly discussing the possibility of merging CCV with Spirit of Christ Church in Haslett. It’s now official; both Boards of Elders have voted to pursue joining forces and begun to work out the details of How to proceed. We intend to meet together for Worship several times in December (12/14 and 12/28). We’ll also come together for a Fire By Night gathering on Sunday, December 7th and a Christmas Eve Worship Service on Dec. 24th.

Our intention is to officially bring the two churches together in January 2026 after the new year, allowing time for several important remaining details to be worked out over the coming weeks.

Please continue to pray for God’s wisdom, guidance, confirmation protection and provision as we pursue what we believe God’s Spirit has invited us to do together.

Join us this Sunday evening, December 7th at 6:30pm for our next FBN Worship Gathering. These periodic (5th Sunday/month) events are intended to create space for us to worship and pray together for an extended period, inviting and allowing Holy Spirit to lead us into sharing testimonies, prophetic words, Scriptures, and burdens for prayer. We’ll begin to gather at 6:15pm for refreshments and fellowship so we can be with One Another. Worship will start around 6:30pm.

Note: This event was postponed from last Sunday due to the Winter Storm.

Weekly Budget Target: $2900 wk./$136,300 ytd.

YTD Actual Income: $112,776 ($23,524 under amt. needed to meet annual budget)

YTD Actual Expenses: $113,309

YTD Net Income: -$533

Note: Please bear in mind that these numbers are Year-To-Date. Whenever our cash flow (net income) is negative, it means we’re operating using reserves from the previous year, which are limited. Please continue to pray with us for God’s provision!

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.  Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.  And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”

2 Corinthians 9:6-8
