It’s happened very seldom over the last 25 years, but CCV will cancel Sunday Morning Worship and postpone the Sunday Evening Fire By Night Service (with SOCC) due to the ongoing Winter Storm Warning, which extends until 10am. While some could likely make it out, this is for the safety of all, as driving conditions are difficult and dangerous.
Stay home, stay safe, and be encouraged to take some time to worship together with your family. We’ll plan to see you next week Sunday as we begin the Advent season with another joint worship gathering at SOCC.

Have a hunger for more fellowship with your brothers and sisters in Christ? Have an interest in how to deepen your own Spiritual Formation? Or, at the very least, do you enjoy a good potluck meal? If any or all of these apply to you, we’d love to have you join us for home group on Tuesday nights at the Shoemaker’s home in Haslett. We’ll begin with a potluck meal at 6:30pm, then transition to a time of worship, discussion & prayer using John Mark Comer’s video materials on “Practicing The Way”. Each month we’ll focus on a different spiritual discipline, learning how to implement these practices in our own walk with the Lord. This week we’ll continue our study on the spiritual practice of Prayer.
For nearly one year now we’ve been publicly discussing the possibility of merging CCV with Spirit of Christ Church in Haslett. It’s now official; both Boards of Elders have voted to pursue joining forces and begun to work out the details of How to proceed. We intend to meet together for Worship once in November and once in December (12/7). We’ll also come together for a Fire By Night gathering on Sunday, December 7th and for a Christmas Eve Worship Service on Dec. 24th.
Our hope and intention is to officially bring the two churches together in January 2026 after the new year, allowing time for several important remaining details to be worked out in the meantime.
Please continue to pray for God’s wisdom, guidance, confirmation and provision as we pursue what we believe God’s Spirit has called and invited us to do together.
Join us next Sunday, December 7th at 6:30pm for our next FBN Worship Gathering. These periodic (5th Sunday/month) events are intended to create space for us to worship and pray together for an extended period, inviting and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us into sharing testimonies, prophetic words, Scriptures, and burdens for prayer. We’ll begin to gather at 6pm for refreshments and fellowship so we can be with One Another. Worship will start around 6:30pm.
Note: This event has been postponed to next Sunday due to the Winter Storm Warming on Sunday, November 30th.

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”
2 Corinthians 9:6-8
