Kevin Shoemaker · Living Well from Capital City Vineyard

Join us this week for our Sunday Worship Gathering at SOCC, tomorrow at 10am. As we move through the Advent season and prepare for our annual celebration of the incarnation of Jesus, Pastors Kevin and Jessie will be teaching from Isaiah 9:6 on “Jesus the Everlasting Father”.

Next Sunday we’ll back at CCV for one final service together in that location.

Sunday, December 14th at 10am: United Worship Gathering at SOCC

Sunday, December 17th at 6:30pm: Midweek Prayer at HOP EL

Sunday, December 21st at 10am: Worship Gathering at CCV

Have a hunger for more fellowship with your brothers and sisters in Christ? Have an interest in how to deepen your own Spiritual Formation? Or, at the very least, do you enjoy a good potluck meal? If any or all of these apply to you, we’d love to have you join us for home group on Tuesday nights at the Shoemaker’s home in Haslett. We’ll begin with a potluck meal at 6:30pm, then transition to a time of worship, discussion & prayer using John Mark Comer’s video materials on “Practicing The Way”. Each month we’ll focus on a different spiritual discipline, learning how to implement these practices in our own walk with the Lord.

Note: This week (Tuesday 12/15) we’ll be taking another week off due to a conflict the Shoemaker’s have, but we invite you (regulars and newcomers) to join us for a Christmas potluck/party on Tuesday, December 30th.

For nearly one year now we’ve been publicly discussing the possibility of merging CCV with Spirit of Christ Church in Haslett. It’s now official; both Boards of Elders have voted to pursue joining forces and begun to work out the details of how to proceed. We intend to meet together for Worship several times in December (12/14 and 12/28). We’ll also come together for a Christmas Eve Worship Service on Wednesday, December 24th.

Our intention is to officially bring the two churches together as “Spirit of Christ Vineyard Church” in January 2026 after the new year, allowing time for several important remaining details to be worked out over the coming weeks, including the wrap up of year-end finances.

Please continue to pray for God’s wisdom, guidance, confirmation protection and provision as we pursue what we believe God’s Spirit has invited us to do together.

If you plan or would like to give a year end gift to CCV please be aware that for tax purposes all gifts must be postmarked by Dec. 31st at the latest. As we meet together with SOCC in the coming weeks, for the remainder of this year we’ll have a CCV Offering Box there to receive tithes and offerings until the end of this year.

Weekly Budget Target: $2900 wk./$145,000 ytd.

YTD Actual Income: $113,634

YTD Actual Expenses: $113,744

YTD Net Income: -$110

Note: Please bear in mind that these numbers are Year-To-Date. Whenever our cash flow (net income) is negative, it means we’re operating using reserves from the previous year, which are limited. Please continue to pray with us for God’s provision!

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.  Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.  And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”

2 Corinthians 9:6-8
