ClickUp had a quiet fortnight. Notion made two big moves, one of them a bit surprising. Monday.com shipped an AI feature that actually saves support teams real time. And Claude showed up inside Slack as a teammate you can tag. Quick read, then back to your day.

Inside this issue

  • ClickUp: A quiet fortnight, and where to look instead

  • Notion: Retires its inbox for AI agents, plus 3.6 lands

  • Monday.com: AI now closes support tickets on its own

  • Claude: Joins Slack as a taggable teammate

  • Tech Snippets: The latest on Claude Fable 5, ChatGPT 5.5, and operational tips

  • What Camel Tech does

ClickUp: Nothing new to report

This one is simple. ClickUp’s changelog has not moved since Release 4.04 on May 5, which we already covered last issue (Gantt Baselines, Brain on mobile, ClickUp inside ChatGPT).

Nothing new landed in the back half of June. If you’re mid-rollout on any of those Brain or agent features, that’s still the best use of your time this fortnight. We will flag it the moment something real ships. ClickUp’s changelog is here if you want to check yourself.

Notion retires its inbox for AI agents, plus 3.6 lands

Two things worth knowing here, and the first one is a real surprise.

On June 25, Notion announced it is shutting down Notion Mail on September 22, 2026. The reason is simple: Notion said more than half of Notion Mail users already manage their inbox without ever opening it, letting AI agents handle it instead. So the company is going all-in on agents rather than the inbox itself. Your emails stay safe in Gmail either way, since Notion Mail always synced two-way.

⚠️ Critical Deadlines: If you use drafts, scheduled sends, snippets, or auto-label rules inside Notion Mail, export them before September 21. If you're in a regulated industry, Notion's priority migration deadline just passed on June 30, so you should move off immediately. Full details are on Notion's help page.

Second, Notion shipped version 3.6 on July 1, just as we were closing this issue, and it is too relevant to hold. The headline: Claude and Cursor are now the first two “External Agents” you can bring directly into Notion. Instead of your coding agent working alone in a separate tool, you can assign it a task from a shared board and watch it work alongside your team.

Notion also added speaker labels to AI Meeting Notes, introduced interactive HTML blocks directly inside Docs, and its agents can now read and write Excel, PowerPoint, and Word files, plus connect to Outlook. Read the 3.6 release notes.

Put together, this is Notion betting hard on agents as the main way you’ll work in the product, not just a feature bolted on top.

Monday.com’s AI now closes support tickets on its own

On June 19, Monday.com shipped auto-resolve for monday service, an AI copilot that answers routine support requests on its own, using answers pulled from past resolutions.

The part that matters is the control: you set the confidence level the AI must hit before it replies without a human. Anything below that bar routes to a person instead of guessing.

Who should care: Any team running support or client requests through monday service, especially ones drowning in repeat questions like password resets or “where’s my order.” This is the kind of AI feature that saves real hours instead of just sounding good in a demo.

One more from June 23: you can now turn Canvas elements (shapes, sticky notes, cards) directly into board items. If your team plans on a whiteboard-style Canvas and then manually rebuilds it as tasks, that step is gone. See both releases on Monday.com’s What’s New page.

Claude joins Slack as a taggable teammate

On June 23, Anthropic launched Claude Tag, a new way to bring Claude into Slack as a shared team member instead of a private chatbot. Type @Claude in any channel you’ve given it access to, hand it a task in plain language, and it works through the steps using the tools it’s connected to, then posts the result back in the thread. Everyone in the channel sees the same Claude and can pick up where someone else left off. You can watch Anthropic’s live video demo of Claude Tag here to see exactly how it runs multiplayer tasks inside a channel.

It’s in beta for Claude Enterprise and Team customers, running on Opus 4.8, and it replaces the older Claude in Slack app (admins get a 30-day window to migrate). Read Anthropic’s announcement.

Worth watching if your team already runs client work through Slack: This is a real step toward AI that works inside the channel where the work already happens, not in a separate chat window you have to remember to open. Microsoft made a similar move this month too, taking its own Copilot Cowork agent fully live worldwide on June 16, so this pattern is showing up across more than one vendor right now.

Tech Snippets & Ops Tips

The Big AI Model Shifts

  • Claude Sonnet 5 & Fable 5 are Live: Anthropic had a massive week. On June 30, they launched Claude Sonnet 5, engineered to be highly autonomous for multi-step coding and tool execution. Even bigger news: on July 1, Anthropic officially announced the global redeploying of Claude Fable 5 after the U.S. government lifted temporary emergency export controls, bringing their top-tier reasoning model back to global enterprises.

  • ChatGPT’s GPT-5.5 Instant Update: OpenAI rolled out a major GPT-5.5 Instant Update on June 24, focusing heavily on conversational nuance, better instruction-following across complex constraints, and smarter location-grounded queries. Alongside this update, OpenAI officially retired GPT-4.5 from ChatGPT on June 26.

This Week’s Business Ops Tips

  • Systemization Tip: Never automate a broken process. Map out your workflow step-by-step on a digital canvas first. If a human manager can’t easily follow the logic, an AI tool will only make your operational mistakes happen faster.

  • AI Prompting Tip: Stop over-constraining reasoning models. Instead of writing highly rigid, micromanaged rules, define your target outcome clearly, provide clean background context, and explicitly command the model to use its own self-verification steps to audit its output.
