Even if I really like to draw perspective and technical stuff, I took me sooooooooooooooooooooooo very long I would spend a week in a single illustration. Now I rather spend a bit more time blocking stuff in 3D (usually very roughly) and then I have perfect references for many drawings of the same places so adding details and shading is 100% relaxing. Specially useful for jams where time is very limited.

I tried to learn Blender at lest 3 times and every time I was hitting my head against the horrendous controls. I managed to make whatever I needed to to, but after a week all knowledge of the controls would disappear and the next time I would start from 0 again. It was VERY frustrating.

Luckily, thanks to a tweet on X, I found the perfect solution to all my problems: Blender for Artists. I’m no totally sure about the “for artists“ part. I should be “for normal people with proper ways to control 3D spaces“. It is a version of Blender which simple has all IMBESILIC control schemes fixed so it works like the 100% of other editors and/or 3D games I’ve ever used.

Just perfect!

Here are some examples of 3D blocking vs their inked and shaded versions:
