As a photographer I have never been a friend of summertime with the high contrast light and the trembling air due to hot temperatures. The nordic winter is a challenge for photographers when the light is up for only a few hours, depending on where you live. But the light can be truly magic with low sun shining with warmth behind frosty trees. Especially on cold days with temperatures below -15 degrees Celsius. I always come home with lots of photos to process after such photo sessions. When the weather is cloudy the nature and landscape is best in monochrome black & white with the clean contrast between the snow and subject. If the weather is clear and sunny and the light is low just before sunset or at sunrise, the photo is best in color in my opinion. Both are good in their own ways.
