Grateful for so much despite the tumult

Jared Silvia · Building for 2075

This has been a rough year on many fronts.

US federal policy is in the middle of a massive reset. This has led to disruption across the US’s innovation ecosystem, from fundamental research at universities to early-stage support for startups and small businesses through the SBIR program, and finally, to late-stage support for a variety of promising clean energy technologies.

Global commitment to mitigating and addressing the impacts of climate change has weakened. The US is charting a course of fossil fuel domination in the face of the electrotech revolution.

Despite this macro-level upheaval, we continue to see reasons for optimism, and for that we are grateful.

We are grateful to the many entrepreneurs who let us join them on their journey. Over the past year, we have met with dozens of entrepreneurs who continue to turn ideas into products. In fact, this moment of upheaval has led many entrepreneurs to critically analyze their business plans. The result is something more robust and resilient, which bodes well for the future success of these entrepreneurs.

We are grateful to the many mentors, advisers, and colleagues who have provided us with both encouragement and frank criticism. As excited as we are about Gliding Ant Ventures, our support networks have kept us grounded.

We are grateful to our friends and family for giving us the opportunity to build Gliding Ant Ventures. It is only with their love and confidence that we have been able to navigate the uncertainty and chaos of the last year.

And we are thankful to you, our readers, for subscribing and joining us as we work to build a more prosperous and abundant 2075.

If you are in the US for Thanksgiving, we hope you enjoy some time with family and friends.

See you next week.
