A Note About Organizational Endorsements and Comments on this Substack:

Brooklyn Contra aims to have this substack host a wide variety of posts and opinions from various individuals. Sometimes the author may be a member of our organizing committee, our board, or a guest whose opinions we think are a valuable part of the conversation about contra dance organizing and participatory folk culture.

Unless otherwise noted the views expressed in this Substack do not represent the official positions of Brooklyn Contra. When they do express our official views the authorship of an article will clearly be labeled as the Brooklyn Contra Organizing Committee.

All posts here will be reviewed by organizing committee members to ensure that they are part of a respectful dialogue, and we would encourage folks with alternative opinions to participate in a conversation about the posts in already existing venues for organizer conversation (specifically the Shared Weight listserv for organizers and the Organizers of Contra Facebook Group)

We encourage respectful comments, but as all activities around this substack are run by volunteers with limited time, we generally will delete disrespectful or unproductive comments, and turn off comments on individual posts rather than investing our limited resources in moderation.
