Fuck all. KCD2. Skipping dialogue.

I did fuck all and I didn’t leave the house. Which is fine.

I streamed more Kingdom Come Deliverance II. I’m at the point with it now that I’m starting to skip some of the dialogue, cos it’s a bit confusing and the main story doesn’t mean that much to me anymore. I’m more into the side quests and the trivial things.

The problem with skipping through the dialogue is that there are people watching me. Viewers. And a lot of them might want to watch that dialogue, seeing as they’ve been watching the game progress for about three weeks now. Or maybe some of them aren’t interested in the dialogue either, but now that they’ve seen me skip through it, they might think that I may as well bin it all.

But skipping through the uninteresting bits are what keeps me interested, in a funny way. And if that makes viewers lose interest, well, what can I do.

That’s the problem with long games, if you’re a streamer. Actually, there are three problems I can think of, off the top of my head. I’ll bullet list them for you:

• If a viewer doesn’t like a game that lasts a month, that’s them away for a month

• If a viewer isn’t watching from the start and doesn’t catch up with the vods, they won’t know what the fuck is going on, and will fuck off

• If you, the streamer, lose interest in the game at some point, you may feel obliged to finish it for the people who are still interested, which is boring and annoying

One solution to those problems, and every other one, is to simply not care. I try not to, but I’m a professional streamer.

Hopefully I can have the whole thing done before February, so I can get back to watching some telly on the stream, and some shorter games that don’t last a month. But mainly telly watching. And mainly Cilla.
