This week, Russian forces increased their use of glide bombs across Kherson and southern Mykolaiv Oblast, mainly claiming to have struck UAV launch points and command posts of locally deployed brigades.
The week began with strikes north of Kherson city in the settlements of Zelenivka and Muzykivka. Russian forces carried out two series of strikes less than an hour apart on the central part of Zelenivka village, dropping at least ten guided aerial bombs.

The third airstrike was like a death sentence. Five FAB-500 bombs from UMPK systems destroyed the command post of the 34th Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Zelenovka.”
Later, on the same day, Russian forces bombed the Suvorovskyi Shopping Center in the heart of the city center. Ironically, the shopping center was itself the focal point of a major corruption scandal when now-Russian-Occupation-Governor Vladimir Saldo was serving as the mayor of Kherson. The origins of Saldo’s involvement in the scandal stretches all the way back to 2005, when Saldo and a slew of local oligarchs obtained loans from Russia’s Sberbank in order to finance the ever-ballooning project. Ultimately, the mall sat mostly unused after the project was transferred between several different investors – all of them linked to Saldo – and after a failure of a partial opening in 2012 and failed launches of other businesses located in the mall in the following decade. Reportedly, construction may have cost up to $25 million USD in total – only to be sold for close to $7 million USD in 2020. Despite the irony of Russian bombs falling on a project they invested heavily in themselves, even Moscow’s bombs were not enough to demolish the building. Three guided aerial bombs directly hit the shopping mall, while a four bomb fell short and struck the building directly to the south of the mall on Yevropeyska Street.

July 6, 2026. This afternoon, aircraft in the area of responsibility of the 18th Combined Arms Army of the Army Group “Dnepr” carried out a series of strikes on the central part of Kherson for the fourth time that day. The Suvorovskyi Shopping Center was used by the enemy as a logistics center, where UAVs were stored and several crews were quartered. Its convenient location and excellent logistics made this facility quite dangerous.
Objective surveillance footage shows critical damage to this location, and survivors are a distant dream.
The Ukrainians will answer for everything.”
As a result of these Russian strikes on 06 July, four civilians were wounded in Zelenivka: two elderly women (65 & 72) and two teenage girls (11 &17). Also, a 40-year-old woman and 78-year-old woman in Muzykivka were wounded by additional airstrikes. Later, on 09 July, four more civilians were wounded in Muzykivska hromada: two men (57 & 60) and two women (43 & 54).
On the night of 07-08 July, Russian forces bombed the village of Oleksandrivka, located on the border of Mykolaiv and Kherson Oblasts, claiming to have struck an observation post and UAV operator post in the village with at least four guided aerial bombs.
Interestingly, Osvedomitell Alex shows just how unfamiliar he is with Ukrainian ORBAT in the Kherson Direction, as they claimed to have hit positions of the completely made-up 406th Unmanned Systems Brigade. In reality, the only brigade-echelon unit with the designation of “406th” is the 406th Separate Artillery Brigade and is located in the Kherson Direction, as it is the primary fires asset of the 30th Marine Corps.

Oleksandrivka. In the evening, our aircraft in the area of responsibility of the 18th Combined Arms Army of the Army Group “Dnepr” carried out a massive airstrike on an air observation post and a UAV control point in Oleksandrivka. From there, fighters from the 406th UAV Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces coordinated their UAV strikes on our positions.”
As a result of the series of airstrikes, a 38-year-old mother and her 15-year-old daughter and local student, Oleksandra Maretska, were killed. The girl’s death was confirmed in a Facebook post from her school.
A 13-year-old girl in the same village and a 39-year-old woman in another village were also wounded by the overnight airstrikes. Both wounded individuals were hospitalized in serious but stable condition. 20 private houses, an educational institution building, and power lines were damaged, leading to power outages, according to the Mykolaiv Oblast Administration, Mykolaiv Oblast Police, and the Mykolaiv Oblast Prosecutor’s Office.

Further to the north in Beryslavskyi Raion, Russian forces struck the village of Novoraisk with at least three guided aerial bombs. No reported civilian casualties were reported as a result of these bombings.

At the end of the week, Osvedomitell Alex released footage of a Mavic drone carrying out a skid-drop attack on a civilian vehicle that was stopped while the passenger got out to seemingly open the gate to the driveway of a local home. At least one person was struck by the attack.

This week again saw the fifth highest total of Russian drone attacks launched on Kherson Oblast since tracking began, with 4472 total drone attacks reported by Oleksandr Prokudin – just under 100 more attacks than last week (4472). In the past 78 weeks, Russian forces have carried out at least 182,181 drone attacks in Kherson Oblast.
Ukrainian C-UAS operations again intercepted 93% of Russian drone attacks this past week, maintaining their interception rate from the past two months. Nevertheless, Russian forces still managed to successfully carry out 311 UAV strikes across Kherson Oblast. Again, Prokudin did not share statistics in his typical format, omitting the statistics for interceptions inside and outside Kherson Urban Hromada.
Prokudin has now published four weeks worth of Shahed interception data, with 94 intercepted this week. This week, there were no interceptions of operational-tactical UAVs, but Ukrainian forces did eliminate two Russian UAV teams.

“In Zelenivka, a dozen residential buildings and a cultural center were damaged by today’s Russian airstrike.
In about half an hour, the occupiers dropped seven guided bombs on the village, causing significant damage to civilian infrastructure.
Fires broke out in some homes. Despite the threat of repeated strikes, rescuers quickly extinguished the fire.
Four people were injured in the shelling - two women and two children. One of the bombs exploded next to a house where two sisters, aged 17 and 11, were staying.
The girls are currently in the hospital under medical supervision. Doctors assess their condition as moderate.”
On Monday, Russian forces conducted a series of airstrikes across the villages to the north of Kherson city, hitting Zelenivka and Muzykivka. As previously mentioned, 4 civilians, including 2 teen girls, were wounded in Zelenivka and 2 more in Muzykivka.

“A direct hit fell on a local educational institution. One of the school buildings literally “collapsed”. Most of the windows in the building were broken, classrooms were damaged, the roof was crushed, and walls and ceilings were damaged.
Private houses, one of the churches, and cars were also hit by the Russians.

“At around 8:30 a.m., Russian terrorists attacked a civilian car in the Central District of the city with a drone. Unfortunately, two men died on the spot from their injuries. My sincere condolences to their families and loved ones.
Two more women, 53 and 54 years old, received concussions, mine-explosive and closed head injuries. They are currently in the hospital, where they are receiving the necessary medical care.
High drone activity remains. The enemy is purposefully hunting civilians.”
On the west side of Kherson city, a Russian drone struck a public bus, wounding a 53-year-old female hospital employee. Another drone attack wounded a 56-year-old man.

“Russian occupiers continue to “hunt” for public transport in Kherson.
Another attack by an enemy drone occurred at around 7:30 in the Korabelnyi district. A trolleybus was damaged.”
In the villages to the west, Russian drone attacks wounded a 77-year-old woman in Komyshany and two 43-year-old men in Bilozerka.
To the east of Kherson, a Russian drone strike wounded a 46-year-old man in the village of Mykilske.
On Tuesday, Russian strikes focused mainly on Dniprovskyi and Korabelnyi Raions, wounding at least 15 civilians.
In Dniprovskyi Raion, a drone strike on a car wounded a 43-year-old woman and two men (44 & 71). Another strike on a car wounded a 58-year-old man. Additional drone strikes throughout the day wounded a 49-year-old police officer, a 48-year-old man, and three women (54, 61 & 86).
In Korabelnyi Raion, another strike on a civilian car wounded a 53-year-old man, while a strike on a local homestead wounded a 66-year-old woman who was taking care of her goats. An ambulance retrieved the woman, but was itself hit by another drone attack, prompting police to evacuate both the wounded woman and the medical personnel. Shelling in the district wounded four: two women (66 & 72) and three men (35 & 55).

“…at around 2:30 p.m., Russian occupiers fired artillery at residential areas in the Korabelnyi district.

To the west of Kherson city, a Russian drone strike wounded a 53-year-old man in Komyshany, while to the east of the city, shelling wounded two men (37 & 41) in Dariivska hromada.

At about 7 AM on Wednesday morning, Russian forces attacked a public bus in Shumenskyi Raion, killing a 72-year-old woman and at least 8 more civilians. Among the wounded were three women (40, 47 & 49) and five men (46, 49, 54, 55 & 57).
In Korabelnyi Raion, drone attacks wounded a 55-year-old woman and five men (54, 57, 60, 62 & 68), including a 68-year-old medic.

“At approximately 9:10 a.m., Russian terrorists killed a 53-year-old resident of Kherson by attacking his car with a drone in the city center. Judging by the damage to the car, the man had no chance of survival. This means that the enemy operator deliberately aimed the drone at civilian transport.
This is not the first attack by the occupiers’ UAVs at this intersection in the past few days. On Sunday, two men, aged 71 and 47, were injured there. They were provided with all the necessary medical assistance.”
A Russian drone attack in Centralnyi Raion killed a 53-year-old man.
On the east side of the city, in Dniprovskyi Raion, a 59-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman were wounded by Russian drone attacks, as well. Just outside of Dniprovskyi Raion, in the village of Antonivka, a 72-year-old man was killed by a Russian FPV drone strike.
On Thursday, Russian strikes across Kherson Raion killed two and wounded at least 44 more civilians — one of the worst days ever.
In the city center, a Russian drone attacked a local market, wounding three men (43, 55 & 60). Near the movie theatre, another drone attack wounded a 48-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman. Around 2 PM, a Russian FPV drone struck a public bus, wounding at least 8 civilians. Among the wounded were six women (38, 40, 51, 52, 73 & 76) and two men (60 & 74). Another drone strike targeting a local supermarket wounded two men (54 & 64). Additional drone strikes wounded a police officer, four men (43, 51, 61 and a man of an unknown age), and two women (35 & 50).

“Another war crime by the Russian occupiers in the very center of Kherson. At about 1:40 p.m., the enemy insidiously attacked a minibus with passengers with a drone.

In Korabelnyi Raion, a Russian drone attacked and wounded two men (46 & 51), prompting medical services to evacuate the men to the hospital. Russian forces hit the ambulance, wounding the 50-year-old driver and two medics (38 & 49). Additional drone attacks in the area wounded a 17-year-old boy, a 50-year-old woman, and a 72-year-old woman.
As mentioned earlier in “Terror From the Left Bank”, additional Russian aerial bombing wounded four civilians in Muzykivska hromada — two men (57 & 60) and two women (43 & 54).
On Friday, two civilian casualties were reported in Kherson Raion from Russian shelling — a 44-year-old police officer was wounded in the city center, while a 70-year-old woman in Dniprovskyi Raion was killed.
On Saturday, Russian strikes killed at least 3 and wounded another 16 more across Kherson Raion.
In the city center, Russian drones attacked a hospital, wounding three ambulance drivers (48, 54 & 60).
In Dniprovskyi Raion, Russian drone attacks killed a 70-year-old woman and wounded a 76-year-old woman, and two men (30 & 51). Russian forces also attacked a public trolleybus.

In Korabelnyi Raion, a Russian drone attacked the Zabalka neighborhood, wounding two women (53 & 76) and two men (53 & 65). Elsewhere in the district, a 48-year-old man was killed and three men (43, 58 & 61) were wounded by additional drone attacks. Russian shelling in the same area killed a 77-year-old woman and wounded a 38-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman. In the Shumenskyi neighborhood, a 55-year-old male utility worker suffered the amputation of his right foot after he stepped on a Pryanyk (“gingerbread”) anti-personnel mine.

In the city center, a Russian drone struck yet another public bus, wounding the 63-year-old driver. Another drone attacked a public bus stop, wounding at least four civilians — a 66-year-old man and three women (57, 58 & 71). A drone strike on a civilian car wounded an 82-year-old woman. Additional drone attacks wounded four women (31, 60, 70 & 80), two men (51 & 61) and an 11-year-old girl.

“At around 5:30 p.m., Russian occupiers once again attacked the Korabelnyi district with a drone.
The vehicle of one of the Kherson City Council’s CPs was hit. Two buses were damaged.”
In Beryslav Raion, Russian drones killed 2 and wounded at least 9 more civilians throughout the week.
On Monday, an 80-year-old man was killed in Beryslav and a 55-year-old man from nearby Shliakhove was wounded due to Russian drone attacks.

“Police officers evacuated a seriously injured woman from a shelled village in the Kherson region
Another rescue operation was carried out by police officers in the Novoraiska community. This time, law enforcement officers evacuated a 68-year-old local resident who was seriously injured as a result of a targeted attack by an enemy drone.
As it became known, the woman was returning from a store when a Russian FPV drone began to pursue her. The UAV operator saw who he was attacking and deliberately directed the drone there. As a result of the explosion, the woman received multiple shrapnel wounds to her neck, lower back, and limbs. She suffered from severe pain and needed immediate medical attention.”
The next day, drone attacks wounded two men and two women. In Borozenske, a 42-year-old farmer was attacked and wounded while harvesting crops in his fields. A 63-year-old man was also wounded in the same village. In Novoraisk, a 68-year-old woman was wounded, while in Liubymivka, a 34-year-old woman was wounded.
On Wednesday, a 71-year-old man was killed by a Russian drone strike in Krasnosilske.
Two days later, Russian drone attacks wounded a 67-year-old man in Liubymivka and a a 49-year-old man in Novovoskresenske.
On Saturday, a 36-year-old woman was attacked and wounded in the village of Kucherske.
At the end of the week, a 50-year-old man was wounded in a drone attack in the village of Charivne.
Since January 2024, Russian military action in Kherson Oblast has caused at least 7705 civilian casualties. Of the almost 8000 civilian casualties, Russian forces have killed 768 and wounded 6937 in Kherson Oblast. Of those, 6812 are from attacks in Kherson Raion, while 893 are from attacks in Beryslav Raion.
In Kherson Raion, 626 civilians have been killed and 6186 have been wounded. Russian drone attacks have killed 274 and wounded 3074 civilians. Russian shelling has killed 336 and wounded 2951 civilians. Russian landmines and UXO have killed 12 and wounded 105 civilians. Russian large UAV attacks have killed 4 and wounded 56 civilians.
In Beryslav Raion, 142 civilians have been killed and 751 have been wounded. Russian drone attacks have killed 97 and wounded 502 civilians. Russian ballistic missile strikes have killed 2 and wounded 4 civilians. Russian shelling has killed 35 and wounded 156 civilians. Russian landmines and UXO have killed 7 and wounded 82 civilians. Russian large UAV attacks have wounded 2 civilians. Other unspecific Russian military actions have resulted in 1 civilian death and 5 wounded civilians in Beryslav Raion.
Human Safari drone attacks have killed 371 people and wounded 3576 more across Kherson Oblast in over two years.
