BCJ Team · Brain Cancer Justice

Good morning all,

We trust you had a great weekend. We’re so grateful to everyone who supported the launch of Brain Cancer Justice last week.

Whether you attended our event in person at Westminster or have been supporting our social media posts, thank you.

This campaign is about more than just raising awareness - it’s about driving real change in the way brain tumours are treated. And keeping the Government and others accountable.

This week, we’ve taken the first big step. But now, it’s time for the hard work, to deliver on our objectives, be persistent in our activity, and broaden the support of our campaign.

There are a few immediate actions where YOU 🫵 can help us achieve this.

Our Parliamentary petition went live on Monday and quickly soared past 10,000 signatures - meaning the Government will need to respond to us.

As it stands, we have more than 17,000 signatures.

If you haven’t already, please do share this with your family, friends, neighbours, and work colleagues. The more signatures we have, the nearer we get towards forcing a debate in Westminster.

Likewise, with more signatures, we get better regional data, which will help us to engage with MPs about this subject. You can see how supportive your area is by clicking on the ‘show on a map’ link on the petition page (button below).

SIGN OUR PETITION

If you have not already, we do encourage you to write to your MP asking them to get involved or speak with our campaign. You can find your local MP here. If you need help with contacting them, please drop us a note at: braincancerjustice@gmail.com.

Following our launch, we are in contact with some journalists about longer-form pieces. As a result, we’re looking to gather any intelligence (potential case studies) in response to the following questions.

  • RAF pilots – there may be a higher proportion of brain cancer patients who have operated in the RAF. We are looking to better understand this.

  • Hereditary connections - we are told, right at the start that, there is no hereditary connection for brain cancer. However, many who have been in touch with the Brain Cancer Justice team have shared that more than one member of their family has had brain cancer.

So, if either of these two areas feels relevant to you or your family, and you are willing to share, please contact us here: braincancerjustice@gmail.com.

Thanks again to everyone who has volunteered to support this group!

We will be in touch with our next steps soon. For now, let’s keep sharing that petition!
