We will shortly be sharing a survey to gather more information from each of you. Before that, though, we wanted to share a couple of upcoming events:
Monday 24th November, from 2.30pm (Online)
We are really pleased that Baroness Mattinson will be asking a question on our behalf in the House of Lords. This is her first oral question, so we are very grateful she has chosen to support our team. It will start around 2.30pm so keep your eyes peeled on Parliament TV that afternoon if you want to watch it live - it’s only a 10-minute slot.
This follows up on several MPs and members of the House of Lords who have already submitted oral and written questions to the Government on our behalf. If you’ve not already asked your MP, please think about it – the more questions raised, the more focus there is on brain cancer, which is crucial in ensuring we see action from the Government. Tuesday 25th November, from 1pm (In-person)
We are going to be in Edinburgh next Tuesday 🏴
If you live nearby, please come along for a catch-up with us that day. Fellow brain cancer patients and families will be there, including Commonwealth Games swimmer Archie Goodburn and his mother Susie. Archie will be sharing his journey following his diagnosis last year.
We will also be joined by Theo Burrell, a star of Antiques Roadshow and patron of Brain Cancer Research, plus by Dawn Kennedy, who represents Angel Mums, a group of bereaved mums who have lost children to brain cancer.
The plan is for us all to meet at 1pm near the Scott Monument, which is outside Edinburgh railway station (see image).
From here, we will be taking a similar approach to our recent trip to Westminster, whereby we will be visiting key areas with our radiotherapy masks, including the Scottish Parliament, Holyrood Palace, Royal Mile, City Chambers, and St Giles Cathedral.
At 3pm, we will gather to hear our three speakers.
If you are open to it and you/your family member still has it, please consider bringing your radiotherapy mask with you. There may also be a few banshees in Edinburgh that day - so if you happen to have a dark cloak (see our social media), please consider bringing that too. Our aim is to increase awareness of brain cancer in any way we can!
We will also be setting up a WhatsApp Edinburgh group to provide info about the day, so if you want to join that, please also tell Georgie (georginamaynard@gmail.com) 👍

Your stories are heartbreaking, and our thoughts are deeply with you. We do want to reach out to you individually, and hope to over time. We are so sorry it’s not been immediate, but we are a volunteer team who are donating our time.
And time, as we all know, is short!
