Summer Round Up: Bathing Suit Edition

I’ve decided it’s summer and summer means bathing suits. So HERE WE ARE.

Remember when I said that in-person shopping is the last joy we have in this world? Ignore that when it comes to buying bathing suits. Online shopping, at least in this category, reigns supreme!!!

Like most things (LOL), I just have an eye for what will work. The key is to go true to size (I’m doing a M top and S bottom NO MATTER WHAT), opt for fun and/or vibrant colors and prints, and ALWAYS consider the location in which the bathing suits will be worn.

A Mexico bathing suit isn’t the same as an Amalfi Coast bathing suit… and neither of those are me at home alone by my pool ; / Mexico bathing suits equal hot coral/pink ruffles, flirty. Italy bathing suits call for the fashion, the drama, the gravitas.

Also, I definitely take into consideration the group I’m gonna be around. I’m a tits out, ass out kind of girl when it comes to swimsuits but that’s just not happening on a boat with my in-laws. I wouldn’t say I’m necessarily demure (imagine), but I’m definitely not walking around in a teeny weeny bikini while in that circumstance.

And lastly (I know you need me to get to the fucking links already) when it comes to finding the right suit for, you NEED to be nice to yourself and allow “flattering” to have an ever-changing definition that YOU decide.

I need you to know that I just did a major clean-out and got rid of bikinis I had from 2015. That’s truly how long I hold onto good bikinis. Why? Because WE KNOW THE GOOD BRANDS WITH GOOD QUALITY.

I love a fun print or even a seashell beaded moment???? But you can literally never go wrong with a perfectly black bikini.

I fucking love a one piece for day 1 of vacation post plane bloat.

The trick for one pieces is that the top needs to mimic whatever YOU consider to be most flattering. So like for me personally, I love a skinny strap or ones that tie in the back, not just a scooped speedo vibe (like the one from Eres that I bought in every color).

OKAYYYY!!! One LAST thing… remember that shopping for bathing suits should be FUN not draining and terrible. You should imagine yourself in the place you’re about to have the best time in surrounded by all of your favorite people.
