Dearest friends on the internet,
Today I want to share an observation about Cooper…he has never ever met a stranger. He has met several people who wished to remain strangers. But, this distinction does not trouble him.
When Cooper sees a human…any human, his entire body announces: “AT LAST. MY DEAREST FRIEND, WHOM I HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE HAS ARRIVED.” He approaches with the enthusiasm of a politician six minutes before an election. Tail wagging. Ears flopping. Personal boundaries abolished.
The woman apologizes while attempting to restrain him. Cooper interprets this as unnecessary interference with official diplomatic relations.
I will admit that this particular vile beast possesses a certain gift. He looks at every person as if their arrival has made the entire day worthwhile. It is excessive. Undignified. Frequently inconvenient. It is also not the worst way to move through the world.
Do not tell him I said that.
