Hi, it’s Bobby Pulido. Can I tell you a story about my family?
That’s my grandfather, on the left. He came to the United States as a migrant farm worker. He left behind a goat ranch in Mexico.
He led his family from one state to another, following the growing season and working with the soil.
Eventually, my grandfather planted roots for our family in South Texas. That set my dad on a path to pursue a career in Tejano music, a tradition that I continued.
For 30 years, I released albums and toured the country, bringing people together across borders, generations, and politics. I feel incredibly blessed to have been given a platform to celebrate our culture.
But I walked away from it all last year. Honestly, I got sick and tired of watching South Texas politicians do wrong by our community.
So I decided to run for Congress.
Now, I’m the Democratic nominee for Texas’ 15th Congressional District, the most flippable seat in the state.
Pundits and Washington insiders said it couldn’t be done: that a Tejano musician couldn’t play a Trump +18 district in play for Democrats.
But the latest poll has me up 6 points over Monica De La Cruz. We’ve built a movement unlike any in the country. One that will decide control of the House on November 3rd.
In the span of a few decades, the grandson of a migrant farm worker is so close to serving in Congress.
